Our experienced freelance swimming coaches offer private tuition classes for both children and adults at our swimming pool.  Whether you are a complete beginner, or a competent swimmer looking to improve your swim stroke to increase your speed, we can help.

Please note we do not currently offer swimming lessons for children under 4 years old, nor do we provide swim instructors to teach at swimming pools other than our own.

While children may start learning to swim in one of our two children’s pool, we expect them to progress quickly and join adult students in the main pool.  The main pool is 25 meters long, 16 meters wide and ranges in depth from 1 meter to 1.6 meters over a gentle gradient.  All our pools are sanitized using a salt water system.

Prices quoted below are for private swimming lessons i.e. one student and one swim coach. Please contact us for a quotation if you want to share 1 coach with 2, or maximum 3 persons (children or adults), for the same one hour lesson

Cost of Private Swimming Lessons for Adults/Teenagers,

• For an experienced Thai swim coach, who is reasonably fluent in English, 550 Baht per hour or 5,000 Baht for a block booking of 10 hours
• For an experienced Thai swim coach who is fluent in English, the cost is 600 Baht per hour or 5,500 Baht for a block booking of 10 hours
• For an experienced Thai swim coach who is fluent in English, and fully accredited by the Thai Swimming Association, or equivalent, the cost is 650 Baht per hour, or 6,000 Baht for a block booking of 10 hours.

The price for adults and teens includes the entrance fee to the swimming pool for a total of 2 hours – 1 hour for the lesson and 1 hour free time to practice either before or after the coaching session.

Normal entrance fees apply should students wish to spend longer at the pool or visit the pool to practice on their own without a swim coach.

Cost of Private Swimming Lessons for Children 4 years and above

• For an experienced Thai swim coach, who is reasonably fluent in English, 450 Baht per hour or 4,000 Baht for a block booking of 10 hours
• For an experienced Thai swim coach who is fluent in English, the cost is 500 Baht per hour or 4,500 Baht for a block booking of 10 hours
• For an experienced Thai swim coach who is fluent in English, and fully accredited by the Thai Swimming Association, or equivalent, the cost is 550 Baht per hour, or 5,000 Baht for a block booking of 10 hours.

As with adult classes, children may practice or play in the pools for one hour before or after their swim lesson

Booking a Swim Class

We do not have a set schedule for swimming classes but arrange lessons at a mutually convenient time for both the student and the coach. To make a booking, please telephone 085 036 8030 or e-mail info@therealcentreoftheuniverse.com

Please tell us about your swimming experience and availability for lessons:

• Skill level: Are you a non-swimmer, beginner, intermediate, or advanced swimmer? If you are inquiring about swimming lessons for a child, please provide their age.

• Lesson schedule: Please provide your preferred days, dates, and times for your first swimming lesson. When indicating times, please offer a broad range if possible.

Examples:

• Any day except Sunday, between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM

• Any morning after 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM

• 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays

• 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on weekdays

• 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM on any day

• 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Please provide alternative options as we may not be able to accommodate your first choice.

General Information
Parents who bring their child to the pool and wish to observe his/her swim lesson, may enter the pool gardens free of charge.  This concession applies only to the child’s parents or adult guardians.  During the lesson time, should parents wish to swim, and/or sunbathe on one of the pool loungers, there is a concessionary charge of 100 Baht per person. 

Other family/friends in the same party are charged the normal pool entrance fees if they wish to use the garden and/or the pool.

The non-refundable discount price for swimming lessons applies only when a block of 10 coaching sessions are purchased in advance.  Coaching fees include entrance to the swimming pool for 2 hours including the 45 minutes duration of the swimming lesson.  In this case at least one parent/guardian must be present to supervise their child in the pool outside the lesson time.

Normal entrance fees apply when staying for a longer period of time on swimming lesson days and when bringing children to swim on days when no swimming lesson is booked.

Please note, swimming classes may be suspended during December and January if the water temperature drops below 23°C.

Equipment

Towels are available for hire at a cost of 30 Baht each, or please feel free to bring your own.

Coaches will provide kickboards and other swimming aids for use during swim lessons.

The swimming pool does not sell or supply swimming accessories such as swimming costumes, goggles, flippers, hand paddles, snorkels, swim rings (rubber rings), arm bands, leg bands, pool noodles, swim vests (life jackets), swim caps, earplugs and nose clips.  Most shopping malls in Chiang Mai have outlets that sell these items, or they can be bought online from Lazada.co.th (Thailand’s equivalent of Amazon) and delivered within a few days.

Payment

Please note we do not accept credit or debit cards to pay for swim classes. Fees should be paid in cash in Thai Baht or transferred to our bank account

Cancellation policy

After your first swim lesson, please liaise directly with your swim coach to fix the times and dates for additional swim classes.  Our coaches work on a freelance basis and organise their own schedules.  Should you book a session and subsequently find you need to change the appointment time, please give your coach as much notice as possible preferably at least 24 hours ahead of the lesson time as this gives them the opportunity to offer the timetabled slot to another student.  If you cancel within 12 hours of an appointment, a cancellation fee of 200 Baht is payable.
