The first video “Journey to the Centre of the Universe” shows the route from Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Conference Centre to the Centre of the Universe.
The second video shows a walking or cycling route to the Centre of the Universe from Huay Kaew Road, avoiding travel on the 6 lane ring road, Route 121 to Mae Rim.
The third video shows the route from the Centre of the Universe to Huay Kaew Road (1004) which is 1.5 kilometers and takes about 20 minutes to walk. Huay Kaew is the main road from the old city to Doi Suthep Temple. It is usually very easy to flag down a red taxi to go back into the city, as many cabs pass along this route on their return journeys from Doi Suthep Temple, Chiang Mai Zoo, and Chiang Mai University.
The next video is the first in a planned series of insights into places of interest in and around Chang Khian Village.
The video features our local Buddhist temple which remains the centre of many community activities. The temple has recently been extensively renovated and is well worth a visit. The sculptors of Buddhist student monks seen in the video symbolise the neighbouring school overseen by the temple’s abbot.
Chiang Mai Zoo and Aquarium is 2.3 kilometers from the Centre of the Universe. This video from Camlproductions provides a good insight as to what to expect.
A short walk from the zoo and aquarium, is the nearest waterfall to the Centre of the Universe (2.7 kilometers), and can be reached via Huay Kaew Arboretum.
The Arboretum has an exercise trail and in the early morning there is a group practicing Tai Chi. This video is in Thai with annotations in English.
